Originally launched as a solo project in 2020, DERRY evolved into their current lineup in spring 2023, forming a full-fledged horror punk band based in Marburg.
With their demo single The Kids Of Derry, released in summer 2023, the five musicians from Germany made it clear what horror punk means to them: a blend of dark atmospheres, driving beats, playful basslines, and catchy melodies without unnecessary frills – all sprinkled with a good dose of ‘90s American skate punk.
In April 2024, the band followed up with their debut mini-album Remember the Curfew, which came out on FettFleck Records and was also released on vinyl to widespread acclaim. Accompanying music videos for the single His Voice and the title track Remember the Curfew were produced to coincide with the release.
Thematically, DERRY have dedicated themselves to the works of Stephen King. Beyond their name – borrowed from the fictional small town in Maine that appears in many of King’s stories – the lyrics delve into characters and plotlines from his universe.
DERRY’s first full-length is set for release in spring 2026 — and the singles already out, Laurie Ann, Deadlights, and Afraid of Spiders, showcase the dark energy and King-inspired vibe of the upcoming album. The fourth single, 29 Neibolt St, is scheduled for release on February 20, 2026, and will round off the final preview before the full-length finally makes its grand debut.
DERRY have also established themselves as a fixture on the live circuit, sharing stages with bands such as The Casualties from New York, Grade 2 from England, The Crimson Ghosts, and Loikaemie, as well as embarking on their first tours across Germany and playing multiple festivals.
Their merch table has become something of a trademark: lovingly designed items ranging from shirts and caps to all kinds of D.I.Y. creations – plus a book swap box stocked exclusively with Stephen King novels. A complete concept, executed with attention to detail.
